Ralph M. Kamell, M.D
Dr. Kamell received his undergraduate degree from Cornell University in Ithaca, N.Y. He then received his medical degree from Cornell University Medical College in New York NY. Following his medical internship at UC Irvine, Dr. Kamell completed his dermatology residency at UCLA. He opened his private practice in Thousand Oaks in 1976 and also kept his affiliation with UCLA teaching skin surgery to the dermatology residents for several years.
Dr. Kamell is board certified by the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Board of Laser Surgery. He is also a fellow of the American Society of Mohs Surgery, a member of the California Society of Dermatology and Dermatology Surgery, the California Medical Association, the Ventura County Medical Society and the San Fernando Valley Dermatology society.
Dr. Kamell’s interests in dermatology include all aspects of medical and surgical dermatology with an emphasis on treating and curing skin cancer including Mohs Micrographic Surgery. His practice also includes cosmetic dermatology for BOTOX®, Dysport®, Restylane®, JUVEDERM®, Laser Procedures, IPL and Chemical Peels.
During the course of his years in Thousand Oaks, Dr. Kamell and his wife have had the pleasure of raising 4 children who all live in Southern CA.
His hobbies and interests include tennis, golf and fishing.
Michael G. Bodnar, M.D.
Dr. Bodnar has been with Conejo Dermatology since the group’s inception in 1998. Board-certified by the American Academy of Dermatology, he has published articles on dermatological subjects from facial orf (skin lesions) to male breast disease.
Dr. Bodnar attended Thousand Oaks High School and later graduated from Revelle College at the University of California at San Diego. Upon earning a medical degree from Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine in 1994, Dr. Bodnar completed an internship in internal medicine at Loma Linda University. He completed his dermatology residency at Penn State Geisinger medical Center in 1998.
Dr. Bodnar is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, and a Fellow of the American Society for Mohs Surgery. He maintains professional memberships in the San Fernando Valley Dermatology Society and California Society of Dermatology and Dermatology Surgery. He is an affiliated physician at Los Robles Medical Center in Thousand Oaks.
Dr. Bodnar and his wife enjoy raising their four children in their hometown.
Jeanette K. Mitchell, M.D.
Dr. Mitchell was born and raised in the Conejo Valley. She attended Westlake High School and earned her undergraduate degree at Stanford University. She earned her MD from University of California, Irvine School of Medicine. During that time she founded the National Melanoma Awareness Project and graduated at the top of her class with numerous honors including membership in Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. She completed her internship year in Internal Medicine at California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco, CA then pursued her dermatology residency at University of California, San Francisco. She has contributed over a dozen scientific publications, was honored by the American Academy of Dermatology with the AAD Presidents Gold level Volunteer Service Award, and in January 2010 received the AAD Members Making a Difference Award, an honor bestowed on one dermatologist quarterly in the country each year.
Dr. Mitchell is Board Certified by the American Board of Dermatology. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and a Fellow of the American Society for Mohs Surgery. She is a member of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, the American Society for Contact Dermatitis, the Pacific Dermatologic Association, the California Society of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery, and the San Fernando Valley Dermatology Society.
Dr. Mitchell was thrilled to return to her hometown to begin her private practice as a member of Conejo Dermatology in 2011. She most enjoys spending time with her husband and being mommy to their daughter and son. Other hobbies include fishing, gardening, cooking, and music.
William E. Rietkerk, MD, MBA
Dr. William E. Rietkerk, a board certified dermatologist, obtained his undergraduate degree Magna Cum Laude from University of California (UC), San Diego, his medical degree and internship in Internal Medicine from UC Irvine School of Medicine, his MBA degree from the UC Irvine Merge school of Business, and subsequently completed his dermatology residency at New York Medical College where he was selected as Chief Resident of Dermatology.
Following residency, Dr. Rietkerk became Volunteer Faculty for the Dermatology Department at New York Medical College and built a thriving practice as an Associate at Manhattan Dermatology and Cosmetic Surgery. He also taught residents as a Surgical Dermatology Attending at Lincoln Hospital. Recently he and his wife decided to relocate back home to Southern California with their young son. Conejo Dermatology is thrilled to welcome him to our family!
Dr. Rietkerk is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and member of the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, the American Acne and Rosacea Society, and the American Medical Association.
